Gynostemma is a herb widely consumed in Southern China, with a documented use as far back as the 1300s.  It is known as the herb of immortality for it's longevity enhancing effects 

It is sometimes also referred to as 'Poor Man's Ginseng,' due to it containing similar saponins to that found in Ginseng, as well as being a fraction of the price.  Like Ginseng, Gynostemma is an adaptogenic herb and Qi tonic, yet promotes health in many other ways, as illustrated in the section below.

As many of you may be aware, certain herbs can be quite difficult on the taste buds.  Thankfully, this is not the case with Gynostemma, which has a mild grassy taste at first which transforms into a natural sweetness.
